ProActive Health for Abundant Life!

This is in addition to a previous post about Health Revolution and the tools we now have thanks to an amazing group of committed Health Practitioners of various backgrounds and degrees. I will continue to add to this blog as I discover more health tips to simplify our journey to abundant pro-active health!

And speaking of health, we will be attending the Natural Products Expo West in March to meet and share amazing healthy solutions for our Vegan book and blog.

For the past 10 years I have personally been searching for answers to a mind boggling question about the health industry and its extremely limited ability to treat causation.

In 2007 I became allergic to EVERYTHING! After 8 months of suffering multiple bouts of excruciating three-day migraines, 5 rounds of antibiotics and a trip to the Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist who wanted to do exploratory surgery, I was DONE!!! Mainstream medicine had failed me miserably. I was beyond frustrated, highly offended by the mistreatment, lack of answers and zero solutions.

Fast forward and we have a massive Health Revolution unfolding before us. We have doctors that are discovering Functional Medicine. I have since started my journey of personalized health to discover what I call my thousand piece puzzle. Dr. Zimmerman http://pearlzimmermanmd.com/ is a MD/Functional Medicine Doctor. She approaches health like a detective looking for causation. After answering extensive questionnaires we met for close to 2 hours for a full evaluation. During this time we determined what tests would help us address any areas of concern. After the tests results are received we will identify a personalized treatment plan for my proactive health path. This will provide me the exact clarity and direction I need to optimize and enhance my commitment to a life full of abundant health and happiness!

It was only a few months ago that I found this Health Revolution existed. One area that has become an epidemic is autoimmune issues. Everyone is affected due to the levels of toxicity in our environment. Even if symptoms do not yet exist, we are all impacted. In fact, this group shares:

"The average lifespan of someone with an autoimmune disease is 10 years shorter than a healthy person. It doesn't have to be this way!"

Autoimmune Revolution is sharing how we can prevent our lives from being affected by this epidemic and end the suffering once and for all. It is free to view Jan 30th - Feb 6th 2017 so please take the time to learn how to be part of this Health Revolution and also share with your friends and family. It is time that we take our health back into our own hands and out of the pockets of the pharmaceutical companies who are currently making money off of our suffering.

Alan Christianson, ND says we should avoid obvious endocrine disruptors. This may or may not be obvious to most so I looked up endocrine disruptors on the National Institute of Health’s website and found a list of areas to be concerned about so that we can avoid these toxins by reading labels such as BPA, Phthalate, and DEHP Free.

Please choose glass over plastic wherever possible. Consume organic food or at the very least GMO free to reduce exposure to pesticides. Reduce or eliminate popular cosmetics and pharmaceuticals which are full of toxic chemicals. Drink Reverse Osmosis (RO) instead of tap or plastic bottled water. Skip non-stick pans as well as stain and water-resistant coatings on clothing, furniture and carpets. Choose glass over metal food cans or at the very least make sure they are labeled BPA free. Don't take receipts as they contain BPA. Have them emailed instead.

Below is a link where you can dig into more detail about how these disruptors block or antagonize hormones which interfere or alter their normal behavior and cause us to get sick.

“A wide range of substances, both natural and man-made, are thought to cause endocrine disruption, including pharmaceuticals, dioxin and dioxin-like compounds, polychlorinated biphenyls, DDT and other pesticides, and plasticizers such as bisphenol A. Endocrine disruptors may be found in many everyday products– including plastic bottles, metal food cans, detergents, flame retardants, food, toys, cosmetics, and pesticides. The NIEHS supports studies to determine whether exposure to endocrine disruptors may result in human health effects including lowered fertility and an increased incidence of endometriosis and some cancers.” https://www.niehs.nih.gov/health/topics/agents/endocrine/

Another culprit to autoimmune challenges is Parasites. Ann Louise Gittleman, PhD. shares some great insight in this interview. http://autoimmunerevolution.org/expert/ann-louise-gittleman/

Some of the tips Ann shares are to stimulate bile with lemon and water, bitter greens such as arugula, radicchio & endive and Dandelion root tea. Ingest anti-parasitic foods such as garlic, Pomegranate juice, thyme and sage, cloves and Diatomaceous Earth. Heal the stomach with Zinc carnosine, slippery elm, aloe vera and marshmallow root. We can test our Ph 20 minutes after we eat with a ph strip to see if our body is alkaline. If the body is not alkaline, we can take two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in 8 ounces of water 20 minutes before eating to aid the stomach in digestion. She also mentions supplementing with bile salts, digestive enzymes, Choline, Lecithin and Pancreatic enzymes.
